Mr. Turner Lee Ridge, age 84, of Red Boiling Springs, TN, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020, at Mabry Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Gainesboro, TN.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2020, at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home. Jerry Ridge will officiate and interment will follow in the McDonald Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home on Sunday, March 15, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday, March 16, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Turner was born Monday, October 21, 1935, in Celina, TN to the late Martin Sylvester and Anna Kate (White) Ridge. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Ridge; 1 brother, Billy Ridge and 1 sister, Anna Lee Ridge.
Turner married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Hawkins, on July 5, 1957, and with the addition of two children, Christopher and Jennifer, their family was complete.
He was a man of many interests. His greatest pleasures were found spending time with his children and grandchildren whenever possible. Turner was a decorated Navy veteran and retired from Ford Motor Company as a machine operator. In his past-time, he enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, and watching for birds and deer. He loved watching westerns, listening to any music that included a guitar or banjo and his collection of Hot Wheels was a source of fun and pride.
Turner is survived by his son, Christopher Ridge and wife Kathie of Berea, KY; 1 daughter, Jennifer Reed, and husband, Jeffrey of Morgantown, IN; 5 grandchildren, Abigail Derringer and husband, Mark, Mallory Muncie and husband Keenan, Sara Shaw and husband, Brandon, Adam Patterson and wife Candice, Aaron Patterson and wife Brittany; 2 step-grandsons, Michael Reed and wife Brandy and Brian Reed and wife Traci; 18 great-grandchildren; 7 sisters, Willow Dean Ridge of Gainesboro, TN, Virginia Fagan and husband, Carl of Chapel Hill, TN, Edna Sue Mahaney and husband, Jack of Gainesboro, TN, Patsy Cote and husband, Paul of Edmonton, KY, Rosalene Welch and husband, Roy, Imogene Smith and husband, Willis of Celina, TN, Dianne Davis and husband, Tony of Lafayette, TN; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors who mourn his passing.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association or the McDonald Cemetery.
