Richard Allen (Chigger) Hayes

Mr. Richard Allan Hayes, best known as Chigger, age 65, of Celina, TN passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his adoring family.

There will be no formal visitation or service at the funeral home.

There will be an opportunity to sign a guest register book and receive a service folder on Monday, April 20, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., from the front porch of the funeral home.

Richard was a man of loyalty. He mostly cherished his time spent with his family. Never short for words, Richard always made time for his friends. He had a wonderful personality that engaged everyone around him in laughter. Richard spent 26 years working as a Senior Inspector for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He was an active member of Canton Masonic Lodge #481. He was also known for his unwavering love for the Tennessee Vols.

Richard and Lois Dean joined in marriage on August 29, 2008, but they spent 16 years in a devoted, loving relationship. They completed their family with the combination of their children and found themselves abundantly blessed.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Lois; 5 children and 5 grandchildren, Daryl Hayes, also known as ‘Lil Chig’ and his children, Adriana, Aspen, and Abby all of Baxter, TN, Amber Raines and her husband Ronnie and their children Corbin and Lakin all of Celina, TN, Brian Nagy of Celina, TN, Christopher Hayes and fiance’, Sierra, of Celina, TN, Heather Nagy of Kentucky; great-nephews, Matthew Poindexter and Jonathon Nagy; 1 brother, Ray Boles of Florida; several cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors who also mourn his passing.
