Funeral services will be held Friday, December 3, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Upton Hay Funeral Home with Kenny Westmoreland officiating and interment to follow in the Butlers Landing Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday, December 3, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until time for the service.
Alva Jean Loftis Keys, 86, of Cumming, GA, formerly of Gallatin, TN, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021, at Northside Forsyth Hospital.
Mrs. Keys was born in Clay County, TN on June 24, 1935 to Comer Clifton and Ruby Lee (Waddell) Loftis. She graduated from Celina High School in 1953, then moved to Nashville where she attended business school and then worked for the Tennessee Department of Education until her retirement. She loved square dancing, baking and playing tennis. A devoted daughter, she spent many years lovingly caring for her mother. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by 2 nieces, Sherrye (Steve) Smith and Robin (Tom) Kenny; nephew, Jamie (Amy) Loftis; great nieces, Amy Hoffmann and Brooklynn Loftis; great nephews, Tyler and Levi Loftis; great-great niece Erin Sullivan; great-great nephews, Eiji and Kai Hoffman; cousin, Richard (Diann) Birdwell; as well as a host of friends and neighbors that will mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her brother James R. Loftis, aunts Ruth Waddell, Edith Waddell Phillip, and James Wilma Waddell Birdwell.
