William Hershell McGee, a wild and adventurous 9-year-old or in his words "2 and a quarter," was born on February 29, 2016. There was never a dull moment from playing his crazy, imaginative games to digging "ponds" in our front yard. He loved sports of all kinds. He pitched for his little league team and was just accepted as part of the Hermitage Springs Pee Wee Basketball team. He loved watching wrestling with his Daddy, doing Bible study and crafts with his Momma, singing with Sissy Kyndra, playing make-believe with Sissy Aliyah, and just playing board games, Rook, and other card games with the family in general. We can never forget all the wild adventures and nerf wars with Pa or the swimming and watching fireworks at Uncle Sonny and Aunt Nonnie's. He loved when Granny B visited because they always had something planned, and he loved playing jacks with Aunt Bernice when she was in town. He loved attending church at Clementsville Church of Christ and going on vacation to anywhere that had a swimming pool. The list could go on forever.

To know him was to love him. He was mischievous in so many ways, but he had a pure heart of gold. Sadly, this fun loving, handsome boy was called home on May 25, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Carolyn A. Silk.

He is survived by his father and mother, Steven and Christina McGee; sisters, Kyndra Reagan (Brayden) and Aliyah McGee; brothers, Dakota McGee (Celina) and Haydyn McGee (Abby); maternal grandfather, Houston Silk; paternal grandparents, Brenda and Robin Peever; uncles, Sonny Silk (Quiana), Nick Silk (Susan), and Matt McGee (April); aunt, Suzanne Supernaw; special cousins, Kathy Poindexter (Ronnie); honorary grandparents, Nelda and Mickey Clements, and Eva Moore; honorary aunts and uncles, Angela Hulsey (Josh), Martha McLerran (Nick), Tara Asberry, Cherry Ann Denton (John); and a host of cousins. He is and will continue to be missed greatly.

Visitation: Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until time for the funeral at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Upton Hay Funeral Home.
