Sue Elizabeth (Plumlee) Reecer

Ms. Sue Elizabeth (Plumlee) Reecer, age 77, of Celina, TN, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Craig Ogletree officiating and interment to follow in the Moss Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. until time for the service.

Sue was born on Tuesday, November 9, 1948, to the late Mary Elizabeth (Conner) and Hobert Lloyd Plumlee. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her spouse, Tim Edward "Kak" Reecer; siblings, Thomas Larkin Plumlee, Virginia Ann Goolsby, and Georgia Kathern Denham and nephew Jody Reecer.

Sue was a hardworking and devoted employee. She entered the work force managing the local theatre in Celina with her late husband Kak. She then served as a teacher's aide at Celina K-8 prior to her employment at Celina Apparel. While at Celina Apparel, Sue worked with many that became close friends and family to her and she always had a great story to share about her time at Celina Apparel. Throughout her years at Clay County Farm Bureau, she wore "many hats" from being a secretary and a tax preparer to spoiling her special Farm Bureau Adjusters until the time of her retirement in 2017. She gave her time, talents and heart so freely to those around her. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and valued, and she never met a stranger - she was a friend to everyone.

Known to most from all around she was Sue Reecer. Over the years she was also lovingly known as "Mama, Aunt Sue, Grammy Sue, Nanny Sue and SueSue" all of which symbolizes her love for so many. Sue never met a stranger or someone she didn't enjoy talking and connecting with. Her warm and loving spirit was felt by anyone who knew her. Her honesty, kindness, warmth, and genuine love for people touched countless lives and will be lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sue enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling, laughing, and playing games on her phone.

She is survived by her sons, Darryl Reecer, Dewayne (Denise) Reecer; sister, Barbara Jo (Mike) Hammer; nieces, Nikki (Brian) Stamm, Angie (Marc) Robinson, Jerry Allen (Shelia) Reecer, Teresa Reecer, Tina (Mike) Ruth, Andy (Kristy) Reecer, Tiffany (James) Atchley, and Teresa Blythe; great-nieces, Sydney Stamm, Linzi Vetter, Kelsey Dale, Jerry Reecer Jr, Dalice Reecer, Brittany Vitale, Julie Fernandez, Jessica Apple, Megan and Amanda Ruth, Ashlynn, Colton and Kooper Reecer, Brent and Bailey Reecer, and Darwin Bilbrey; sister-in-law, Rebecca Plumlee; brothers-in-law, Truman (Kathy) Reecer, and Melvin (Wilma) Reecer; godson BJ Emberton and a special handpicked daughter, Cristine Schmucker; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors that will mourn her passing.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Moss Cemetery Fund or Light House Christian Camp in Smithville TN.
