Sue McClain

Mrs. Sue McClain, age 76, of Celina, TN, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Celina Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Upton-Hay Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Edgefield Cemetery in Pickett County. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until time for the service.

She was born on Wednesday, July 26, 1950, to Beulah (Rich) and Hershell McClain. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patty Gray; grandson, Taylor Gray; husband, Dwight Sells; siblings, RT McClain, Katherine Burris, and Wanda Joyce McClain.

Sue worked in production for various local factories, such as Osh Kosh, Crotty, and Parker Seals. She was a worker, that’s how most people remember her but in her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Sally.

Sue is survived by her grandchildren, Jon Gray (Kayte) and Kalena Gray; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth McClain and Don McClain (Joyce); sisters, Wilma Gilpatrick, Faye Riley (Danny), Jean Rogers, and Bonnie Boles; beloved dog, Sally; as well as a host of friends and neighbors that will mourn her passing.
