Mr. Raymond Tarter, age 75, of Celina, TN, passed away at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY on Monday, October 14, 2019.

Raymond was born in Nancy, KY on Friday, August 11, 1944, the late Arthur and Claira (Owens) Tarter. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Charles, Burnell (Mousie), and Larry Tarter and 1 sister, Carrie Bushong.

Throughout his life Raymond was man of many talents, and spent more than 30 years as a Contractor for the United States Government. Envied for his unwavering work ethic and no excuse attitude, Raymond was a was a man of integrity who believed in giving a chance to everyone. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his beloved daughter, Melissa.

Raymond attended the Nazarene Church for more than 40 years.

Raymond is survived by his daughter, Melissa Bastin and husband, Joe of Somerset, KY ; life-companion and mother to his only child, Nelda Tarter of Somerset, KY; 2 brothers, Herman Tarter and wife, Donna of Somerset, KY and Terry Tarter of Cincinnati, OH; 3 sisters, Evalene Wilson of Somerset, KY, Kathlene Pence and husband, Junior of Somerset, KY, and Dora Tarter Stickley of Danville, KY; many nieces and nephews; very special friends, Charlotte Scott, J. Hooten and Randy Copeland, as well as other family, friends and neighbors who mourn his passing.
