Ova Edith York, 94

MOSS– Funeral Services for Ova Edith York, 94 of Moss will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2013 from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Dennis Miller officiating. The interment will follow in the Moss Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Saturday, and 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Upton Funeral Home.

Ova York passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, Tennessee.

Ova Edith Dodson was born April 19, 1919 in Clay Co., Tennessee to the late Radford and Effie (Cherry) Dodson. Ova married the late Cortez York on March 08, 1935 in Clay Co., Tennessee. Ova was a homemaker and was a member of the Moss Church of Christ.

She is survived by sons: Domer York of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Freeman, David, Homer, and Rexel (Linda) York of Moss, TN, daughters: Dimple (Roy) Westmoreland, Dean (Amon) Kendall, Cola York, and Reba (Wayne) Smith all of Moss, TN, 36 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Eldon Carlton York, daughter Daffo May Adams, brothers, Estel Lee, Bethel Boyd, Bezzell, Aubra Webb, and Afton Dodson, and sister; Mary Ethel Wilmoth.

Serving as pallbearers were: Adam, Grady, Billy, Michael, Loydale, Alvin, Chris, and Matthew.
