Mr. Lester Ray Boles, age 81, of Celina, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Celina Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Upton Hay Funeral Home with Luke Collins and Pastor Dale Walker officiating with interment to follow in the Turkeytown Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until time for the service.
He was born on Sunday, August 19, 1945, to the late Maggie Irene (Boles) and Andrew Gerstle Boles. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Daffo Scott, Mozell Boles, Shirley Boles, and Wanda Chaffin; brothers, Clarence Boles and Haskell (Hack) Boles.
Ray worked in maintenance and lawncare the majority of his life. He retired but continued to provide quality lawncare up until his health physically no longer allowed.
He was a member of the McCormick Ridge Holiness Church, as well as AA-where he touched many lives and helped so many succeed.
Ray enjoyed fishing and gardening, but there was nothing on this earth he had rather do than take care of his girls. Rosie Ray, Addie-Mae, and Nealie Ann truly were the center of his world and he proudly tell you all about it given the opportunity. He loved Dixie, not sure that girl knew she was actually a dog.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Boles Norris; granddaughter, Rayne Madison Smith (Austin); great-granddaughters, Rosie Ray, Addie-Mae, and Nealie Smith; special grandchildren, Brianna Jordan Robbins, Kyle, Tamekia, Brent, Worm, J.T., and Kalista Smith; special niece, Lucretia Crawford; special friends, Jean Donaldson, Steve Adamo, Doug Neatherly, Reggie Williams, and Chasity Hancock; AA Family; and his best friend, Dixie; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors that will mourn his passing.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made toward Turkeytown Cemetery or Ripples Dog Rescue.
