Mr. L.E. Hestand passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, Kentucky.

Funeral Services for L. E. Hestand, age 78, of Moss, Tennessee will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Upton Funeral Home, Dennis Miller will officiate, interment will follow in the Moss Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Upton Funeral Home.

Lemuel Esco Hestand was born April 14, 1935 in Moss, Tennessee to the late Buddie and Verlie (Cherry) Hestand. L.E. married Maurine Jones on December 24, 1965. L.E.  was a farmer, retired from the State Highway Department and member of the Moss Church of Christ.

He is survived by Wife: Maurine (Jones) Hestand of Moss, Tennessee, Special Niece: Tracy Murphy of Tompkinsville, KY, Nephews, Michael and Melvin McLerran of Portland, TN, Special Great Nephews, Brooks and Branden Murphy of Tompkinsville, KY,  several cousins and extended family members.

James Eads, Randy Murphy, Joe Isenberg, Steve Holt, James Storie, and Rexel York served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Brooks and Braden Murphy, Melvin & Michael McLerran, Barbara Cook, JoAnn Hestand, Lydia Scott, Lacey Collins, Carolyn Collins, Ronald Bailey, Dr. Tim Humes and William Cherry.
