Harold "Piney" Poindexter

Mr. Harold (Piney) Poindexter, age 70, of Celina, TN, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Celina Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Jeremy Anderson officiating and interment to follow in the Ashlock Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until time for the service.

He was born on Monday, January 23, 1956, to the late Maxie (Watson) and Cecil Poindexter. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his infant sister Margaret Sue Poindexter; grandparents, Vanus and Ova Watson, and William Richardson and Mertie Poindexter.

Piney was a logger; he spent many years working in the log woods. Long days and hard work.

He enjoyed digging ginseng, and hunting dryland fish but his greatest enjoyment was his grandkids and attending their events.

He is survived by his spouse, Freda Poindexter; daughters, Keshia (Chris) Boone, Kela (Jimmy) Lynn; grandchildren, Colton Smith and Hallee, Corbin, Darci, and Clayton Smith, Kaylee Lynn and Sawyer, and Kenlee Lynn; Layla, Cecilia, and Gavin Boone; brother, Darryl (Pokey) Poindexter; sister, Carol (Denny) Spears; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors that will mourn his passing.
