February 12, 1934 – December 10, 2024
Elmer Grigsby, age ninety, left this life December 10, 2024. He and his wife Mary Grigsby, lived in their Summerdale, Alabama home for more than forty years. They were married seventy years.
He was most recently preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mildred Grigsby; daughter, Sandra Brown; and grandson, Brent Rich. He is survived by his daughter, Anita Rich; son-in-law, Mike Rich; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister, Gladys Phipps.
Elmer was born in Manuel, Kentucky on February 12, 1934. He and his family lived in this area for several years before moving to Anderson, Indiana where he later retired from General Motors after thirty years of employment.
After retirement, he moved to "Sweet Home Alabama" where he met many friends who shared his interest in fishing, hunting, music (guitars), and Nascar Races. He loved planting gardens and fruit trees. Elmer enjoyed feeding birds and also had a talent for beekeeping. He was an outdoor man who loved God's creation.
A memorial service will be held in Hilham, Tennessee; burial at Cane Valley Cemetery, Kentucky next to his wife. Arrangements to be made at a later date.
