Edith (Raymond) Birkes, age 89, of Celina, TN passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Upper Cumberland Hospice in Cookeville, TN.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015 at Upton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Addition/Fitzgerald Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, after 10 a.m. until service time at Upton Funeral Home.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Elbert Birkes, Jr., who preceded her in death January 19, 2001, six sisters and one brother also preceded in death.

She is survived by her Son, & daughter-in-law, Commander, Larry Charles Birkes and wife, Diane of Orlando, FL; Daughter, Barbara Seeley and husband, Howard of Celina, TN; 4 Grandchildren, James Bane of Los Angeles, California, Jason Bane and wife Callie of Newport News, Virginia, Devin Birkes of Tallahassee, Florida and Megan Birkes of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Brother-in-law, Michael "Uncle Bud" Schmidt of Celina, Tennessee; Special Friend, Doug Frick of Montogomery, Illinois and a host of other beloved friends also survive.
