Champ Edmond Langford

Mr. Champ Edmond Langford, age 77, of Celina, TN, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026, at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Upton Hay Funeral Home with Tony Johnson officiating with interment to follow in the McDonald Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service. 

He was born on Friday, May 6, 1949, to the late Frances Lee (Pennington) and Cecil Frank Langford. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son in law Tim Huff.

Champ attended MTSU where he obtained his Master’s in education, going on to earn his ESD. He taught school for many years, influencing countless lives in a number of different ways.

He enjoyed living life. He never met a stranger, loved talking and telling stories. If he was quiet, most often times, you would find him reading. He was big into politics, obviously he had a knack for people and vocalizing what he believed in.

Champ loved the “authentic” country music. He found pleasure in riding backroads and reminiscing about first one thing and another, you never knew where the trip may lead or the lessons you may learn, but one thing you could count on was the memories made and the laughter shared. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his spouse, Janice Langford; son, Edmond Langford (Stephanie); daughter, Andrea Langford; grandchildren, Nicholas Langford, Wesley Huff, and Waylen Huff; brother, Cecil Langford, Jr.; sister, Kathy Halfacre; as well as a host of friends and neighbors that will mourn his passing.
