Mr. Glen Smith, best known as Arnold, age 80 of Moss, TN passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Union Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Upton-Hay Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Thursday from, 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home.

Arnold was born Thursday, November 19, 1936 in Clay County, TN to Jimmy Woodard and Della (Short) Smith. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Willa Dean Crawford who died on April 20, 1992. Also preceding Arnold in death was his grandson, Kelbee Glen Smith, 2 brothers, Red Smith and Delbert Smith, 1 sister, Opal (Smith) Plumlee and 2 infant sisters. Throughout his life Arnold served in many roles but being a loving husband, dad, brother, uncle and friend was especially important to him.  Arnold was a carpenter for most of his life.

Arnold is survived by 1 son, Casey Smith and wife Kyla of Moss, TN; 1 daughter, Candy Gulley and husband, Gary of Algood, TN; 1 brother, Oral “ Mutt” Smith of Moss, TN; 5 sisters, Sue Smith of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Dot Holmes and husband, Henry of Cherokee, AL, Carol Armond of North Vernon, Indiana, Colleen Allen of Nashville, TN and Edith Morford of Indianapolis, IN; 1 grandson, Raylan James Smith; several nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends who also mourn his passing..
