Bill Thomas

Mr. Bill Thomas, age 87, of Livingston, TN, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019, at the Overton County Health & Rehabilitation Center in Livingston, TN.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2019, at the Livingston Funeral Home. Danny Staggs will officiate and interment will follow in the Flat Creek Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at the Livingston Funeral Home on Saturday, August 3, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday, August 4, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Bill was born in Overton County, TN on Thursday, October 8, 1939 to the late Wells and Wilkie (Gore) Thomas. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife, of 31 years, Joyce Thomas, who passed away on November 21, 1997 and 2 brothers-in-law, Johnny and Jimmy King. Bill was a man of many talents who spent his adult career working for Wilbert Vault Company, where after more than 25 years he retired. He was a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Korean War period. Bill loved spending time with family and friends. He married the love of his life, Joyce King, on Aril 4, 1965 and completed their family with the addition of a son, Doug and a daughter, Penelope.

Bill loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Flat Creek Church of Christ.

Bill is survived by son, Doug Thomas and wife, Renee, of Livingston, TN; daughter, Penelope Brown and husband, Chuck, of Cookeville, TN; sister, Nell Sells of Livingston, TN; 5 grandchildren, Maggie Bullock, Trey Thomas, Ashleigh Auberson, Lincoln Brown and Kaitlyn Brown; 5 great-grandchildren, Miles Bullock, Anthony Auberson, Riley Calder, Charlie Brown and Hunter Brown, as well as a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Flat Creek Cemetery.
