Linda C. Collett, 66, of Celina, TN and formerly of North Vernon, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, TN.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Rev. Tom Mattingly will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2016, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Born October 1, 1949, in Seymour, Indiana, Linda was the daughter of the late Howard and Mary Margaret (Johnson) Speer. She graduated from North Vernon High School in 1968. She married John Collett who preceded her in death in 1986.

Linda had worked at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center and as a LPN at Jennings Health Care. She enjoyed traveling, JCHS athletics, bingo and watching her grandchildren participate in sports.

Linda is survived by a daughter, Joni (Eddie) Mills of Celina, TN; two sons, John T. (Laura) Collett of Glasgow, KY and Leonard (Erin) Collett of Seymour; two sisters, Deborah (Auda) Redmond and Tamara (Richard) Bohannon of North Vernon; two brothers, Thomas (Jolene) Speer and Charles (Cindy) Speer of North Vernon; grandchildren, Sheena Shelton, Dustin and Dalton Pyatt, Shyla Mills, Mark, Travis, Peyton and Haley Collett; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mary Speer; her husband, John Collett; and one daughter, Dawn Marie Collett.
