Glyn B. Poindexter, age 85 of Celina, TN died peacefully on Friday, June 17, 2016 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Glyn was born in Clay County, TN on September 27, 1930.  Throughout his life he was first a husband, father and friend  and served in many roles but spent his adult career as a farmer. He was a faithful Christian and a loyal member of the Arcot Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Maude (Thompson) Poindexter as well as 4 brothers, Fred, Clayton, Raymond and Eddie Fay Poindexter and 2 sisters, Sula Smith and Mildred Abney.

Glyn is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mamie, for which he married December, 14, 1957. There were 2 children born into their loving union, a son, Terry Lee Poindexter of Cookeville, TN and a daughter, Glenda Gribble and husband, Robert of Cookeville, TN. He is also survived by a brother, Gary Poindexter and wife, Nancy of Indiana. 3 grandchildren, Emily Wood and husband, Jonathan of North Carolina, Curtis Gribble and wife, Logan of Nashville, TN, and Hannah Poindexter of Cookeville, TN, 1 great-granddaughter, Blake Poindexter and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
