Jimmy "Pistol" has lived in Clay County all his life. Pistol's daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Rob Weir, are co-owners of the funeral home. He has 2 grandchildren, Austa and Caleb. Pistol is a member of the Celina Church of Christ. Pistol graduated from John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science in 1966. He has worked as a funeral director and embalmer for over 50 years.

Christie a native of Monticello, KY has lived in Clay County for around 20 years. She met and married her husband, Chris Keen, in Clay County and they have raised 4 children and now have 7 grandchildren. Christie and husband Chris and their 6 year old son, Aiden, lived in the Pea Ridge Community of Clay County but have recently relocated to the City of Celina. Christie is a member of the Beech Bethany Church of Christ. Christie is a graduate of John A. Gupton College in Nashville, TN. She graduated in December of 2014 with an Associates of Arts Degree and passed the National Board Examination in January 2015. She completed her apprenticeship in early 2015 and has become a licensed Tennessee Funeral Director and Embalmer. After recieving her licenses in Tennessee, Christie went on to acquire her Kentucky Funeral Director and Embalmer licenses in 2015. Christie also became a Tennessee licensed insurance agent in 2013, after taking the required courses at Kaplan University in Nashville. She has since become a licensed Preneed Sales Agent within the state of Tennessee. She pursued this license to be able to maximize her resourcefulness to the families which she serves. Christie is a 3 Star member of the Clay County Chamber of Commerce, Chairperson for the Clay County Christmas Parade 2013-2014, Chairperson for the Clay County Relay for Life events 2013to the present, as well as a member of the Celina Lions Club where she has hopes of being able to serve Clay County on a different level. “I feel honored to be working at Upton-Hay Funeral Home. The richness of the history within the confines of the building itself makes me feel blessed to have been chosen to carry on the tradition of service to Clay County. I realize that being new to funeral service, I have so much to learn and will simply pale in comparison to my predecessors. Claude E. Hamilton
Non-licensed Funeral Assistant/Grounds Caretaker
Claude worked at Upton Funeral Home in the 60's part-time, then went to work for Twin Lakes Telephone Company while serving eight years in the Kentucky National Guard. After retiring with ten years of service with Osh Kosh B' Gosh, he has been with Upton Funeral Home part-time since 1992. He is a member of the Riverside Church of Christ. Claude has two sons and three grandchildren.

Bonnie is a lifelong resident of Clay County, she grew up in the Moss area. She has worked part-time assisting with various tasks at Upton Funeral Home since January 2010. She is a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Anthony. Bonnie has 1 daughter and 1 grandson.

Monica is a 1992 graduate of Celina High School. She graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1996 with a BS in Elementary Education. She graduated from TN Tech University in 1999 with a Masters degree in Instructional Leadership and again in 2002 with a Specialist in Education degree in Instructional Leadership. Monica has been a teacher for the Clay County School system for 20 years. Monica is married to Rob Weir and they have two children Austa and Caleb. Monica is a member of the Celina Church of Christ. She is looking forward to working with families at Upton-Hay Funeral Home.
Robert E. Weir, Owner

Rob is a 1986 graduate of Celina High School. He attended
Middle Tennessee State University for two years as math major before moving on
and receiving a Degree in Electronic Engineering and Applied Science. He has
worked on metal stamping presses and industrial automated machines for more
than 20 years. Rob is currently the Maintenance Manager at a metal stamping
facility in Cookeville, TN. Rob married Monica Hay in 1998. They have 2
children, Austa Raye Weir and Caleb Elliott Weir. He likes the motto, ‘do as I
do not as I say”, and wants to lead by example. Rob is a member of the Celina
Church of Christ. He looks forward to helping families and working at the Upton-Hay
